If one show epitomizes many aspects of American life in the early '70s, it's THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY. The show's portrayal of the excitement of a rock & roll lifestyle--however toned down--was quintessentially representative of its time. The family of six is headed by mom Shirley (Shirley Jones), a recently-widowed supermom who is short of financial resources. Jones's real-life stepson David Cassidy played teenaged stepson Keith, while the rest of the family was comprised of Laurie (Susan Dey), Danny (Danny Bonaduce), Chris (Jeremy Gelbwaks), and Tracy (Suzanne Crough). In the first episode, the family stumbles into making a hit song, gains a manager through Keith's diligence, and go on tour in an old painted schoolbus. Their first venue is in Las Vegas opening for Johnny Cash, and the family has to combat their stage fright. The season sees the family learning how to deal with their newfound fame, with Keith's heartthrob status getting the best of him and Danny considering a solo career. The group also plays at a feminist rally, has a nasty encounter with a family of skunks, and 10-year-old Danny gets drafted by accident. Other episodes include "This is My Song," "Mom Drops Out," "Soul Club," and "Not With My Sister, You Don't."

The Partridge Family, Great family Entertainment
If you are old enough to remember this very funny sitcom from the 70's, then I probably don't need to tell you anything. If you are not, please do yourself a favor and experience a comedy series from a time when writing and story lines were at their best. Even after 30 years, you will laugh and laugh at this situation comedy about a regular family with musical talent, a single mother trying to make ends meet and all the wacky adventures that ensue. David Cassidy and Danny Bonaduce are very funny and for their first starring roles are actually pretty decent actors. Susan Dey was every boys fantasy back then and Shirley Jones had a certain wholesome sexyness about her. Dave madden plays their manager and is a scene stealer whenever he is around. The Partridge Family.... A Favorite Show
So glad they have The Partridge Family in all its seasons available on DVD! This was my favorite show back when it came out..... always looked forward to Friday night! There are no more shows like this, especially " Family Shows " ! Now a days it is as if though television groups are trying their best to keep up with the times and shove Reality T.V. down everyone's throat! To watch the most grotesque behavior possible is not an option in my book! Even my kids will not allow their children to watch much of television at all due to its contents! I'm so glad to find programs once loved, available for purchase so they can be enjoyed, and remember there once was a time when things in life were nice and enjoyable! I loved everyone on The Partridge Family, and its just so wonderful to sit back, ... So glad they have The Partridge Family in all its seasons available on DVD! Good morning friends, First, I will be objective: I love the Partridge Family. For this reason I bought this box. What I most like in this Box: its the first episode and see David Cassidy starting his career. "What you dislike about it": This question has no answer for me, 'cause I love every character, every episode. I would buy the product again, yes! But only if my box break (lol). Cause the box that I bought its perfect. For Partridge Family's fans, I recommend buying this box, without a doubt! And for who is not fan, I recommend too. I'm sure that you will fall in love with this beautiful musical family! The Partridge Family, is a series that lives in my heart. It's part of my childhood. The first box is magnificent. If you grew up with the Partridge Family this is a must have. Excellent!!!
My wife loved the Partridge Family growing up. She had some episodes on vhs tape but the quality was not very good. I purchased the dvd's for her as a gift and they are great! The picture and sound quality are excellent. She really has a great time watching all the episodes and says it's like going back in time. In our house it was a great purchase.
