If your a Gordon Ramsey fan....
I wanted Gordon's cookbook after watching his you tube show ; I found it at a great price and ordered it. The book is dated 2012 so there are recipes on his show that are not in this book, but it's still a good book and there's a lot of basic cooking knowledge. Everything is metric so you do have to convert and there are recipe items that we might not have in the US, but you can always substitute I wanted Gordon's cookbook after watching his you tube show ; I found it at a great price and ordered it. The book is dated 2012 so there are recipes on his show that are not in this book, but it's still a good book and there's a lot of basic cooking knowledge. I am thinking about reselling. Not as good as I thought it was going to be. The recipes use alot of ingredients I have never heard of. Gordon uses his country's metric's and slang words for ingredients. I wish it included a conversion list and definitions of the slang words.

Great first time recipe book even for USA cooks
So far I love this recipe book. It's my first official recipe book. At first I thought it was a little dumbed down, but the recipes have some awesome depth. I've been learning new methods, new ingredients, and new recipes that I will add to my daily repertoire. The downside; this version is still not in US measurements. It takes a moment to look up the measurements but it also has UK ingredients such as "chilis." I thought this was red peppers at first but realized it probably meant dried peppers such as chipotles. It was still a great recipe but wasn't what was intended. Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone wanting to hone in on their skills without having to scour youtube or online recipes and read through people's diaries before getting to the ingredients list. Great book by a great chef!
Gordon Ramsay is widely known as one of the most successful chefs of the world, and it is no wonder at all since he is brilliant and passionate about cooking. I bought the UK version of the book even though I reside in the United States since I wanted the original copy. I have to say, I have no problem with the measurements used and the lexicon is honestly quite simple to understand.

I've been watching Gordon Ramsay's cooking shows forever and I now have a book that shows me his techniques and gives some instruction on how to use the tools and some really great recipes to try from home. I've had this book less than a week and I'm so excited for the next recipe to try and duplicate. It's truly awesome to have these books
