  • Technical Manual could be more technical

I initially bought this book because I'm a Doctor Who fan and the Doctor Who Technical Manual has long been out of print. I also thought it would be nice to have some sized drawings of props in case I wanted to make a model or something. What I found once I had the book was that it is really geared to children. There are line drawings in the book, but no quite enough detail to be satisfying. Two pages are given to the TARDIS, which has the most detailed drawing, with measurements. There several versions of Dalek and Cybermen present, but these have much more general measurements. The book also has several pages of color photographs in the center, and plan for a cut-out TARDIS in the back. Other props featured are the TARDIS tool box and tools, the center TARDIS console from the 80's, ...

  • The Doctor Who Technical Guide, Very.... Technical!

I am personally a Whovian. sure there are Star Wars fans, and Star Trek fans, but I have always found Doctor Who to be the greatest of them all, especially with over 15 years of episodes to watch. here is a time Lord with the power to do anything he wants, and he goes around the galaxy saving the universe, and his pet people us earthlings as well. this is a book all about the show, making of the show, consepts of the show, and every thing else about the show. it would only be thuroughly enjoyed by a doctor who fan such as myself, and if you are one to, I hope you add it to your collection today!

  • Nerdy fun!

I originally purchased this book years ago and must have misplaced it in a move. The first time around, I believe i wanted the book for purely fun reasons: knowing the "intricacies" beheind some of the objects and characters from my favorite childhood TV show. I recently replaced the book for a completely different reason: I have aquired some nice woodworking skills and decided to BUILD some of the things from my favorite childhood TV show! From either perspective this is a fun and interesting book complete with diagrams(blueprints) and descriptions. A must for any fan of Doctor Who!
