    $50 regas turned into a full HVC replacement

    Still haven't fitted it as still buying all other components to air-conditioning system. The last mechanic drained and refilled the system several times over over several weeks. The compressor seized!! I ASSUME he didn't check the system oil level pulled out of the HVAC after several regas purges. Research now tells me that the complete system could be contaminated with aluminium fragments from the compressor!! I bought a uv 100 led torch 🔦 and found the tell tail green leak dye all over the crimps on the high pressure line and down to the vehicle frame. Also green dye all around the old fill valve. A $50 regas turned into a $1,500 system replacement!!!

    Just what is needed

    Was told I needed to replace the whole line to stop the discharge valve leaking. This fixed the issue easily. Screw the old one out (with the refrigerant reclaimed), screw this new one in and no more problems. Easiest fix once there is no gas in the system.
