    Small footprint = big performance.

Hadn't installed a new modem for quite a few years. The netgear installation was less problem than anticipated. This is a "cable" modem and is connected directly to my Xfinity cable. No problems with compatibility. Connected the modem "solo" ie: no wireless, directly to the computer,, WoW ,, my guess is three times as fast (when running hardwired modem only). Connected the companion wi-fi and the wifi speed was approx double my old modem running wifi. This Netgear system is relatively inexpensive in relation to other "higher priced" wireless modems but has plenty of speed for my uses.

    Consider buying 3.1 instead

The modem works well for what it is - a 3.0 docsis rather than 3.1. This item was on my service provider’s list of approved modems yet I discovered in the real world it doesn’t work as well as the 3.1. I have talked to Mediacom and they essentially told me the reason my internet service is so spotty (in and out all day long) is directly connected to 3.0 vs 3.0 differences. All said, this modem probably works as it should for what it is but I will have to either buy a 3.1 modem or rent the same from Mediacom. Wish I had known this prior to purchase.

  • dependable performance basic price

For a basic line modem it performs as well as more expensive ones such as the Motorola mb7220 i had before...the case is a little thinner but that actually helps with cooling...the only real difference is no power button on back..you accomplish that by removing the pin plug which isnt really any more effort. A good basic modem that delivers

  • Great value and easy to use

This modem was a breeze to setup and has worked flawlessly ever since. Just called my ISP to register the serial number to activate it then Hooked it up and plugged it into power. All done
