overall satisfied with having a gps but would prefer a different model.
I purchased the gps to useon my motorcycle and I really apprciate the battery life on the magellan and its relative accuracy however it is slightly inaccurate by a few meters. It often alerts me that I have arrived at my destination even thoigh I may be few yards away. The worst thing about it for me is that this particular ones volume is extremely low. When I ue it in my automobile you have to turn the radio OFF not just down. Would I purchase this one again, no I would go with the magellan roadmaster(I thinkthat was the name of it) its smaller but far more accurate and the volume is far better. My friend had one that I borrowed but went with the maestro for the bigger size since I was going to use on th bike but I should have gone with thesmaller one. The maps need to be updated as well ... This GPS definitely does the job well for the money that it costs on eBay (around 70-80$ in used condition). I would not compare it to GPS units that cost 160$+ while NEW. Advantages: 1) cheap and seems to be quite reliable 2) does calculation quickly for its own price range 3) nice design 4) good satellite signal (again for its price) It does have the following disadvantages (in order of annoyance rating): 1) It does not seem to find the quickest routes when you put it on the 'Avoid tolls' option 2) When you miss a turn it tends to stick to its own original route as if this the only way to achieve happiness for the whole mankind i.e. this GPS will tell you to make a 'legal U-turn when possible' as opposed to quickly calculating an alternative sensible route 3) when you choose to avoid ... This GPS definitely does the job well for the money that it costs on eBay (around 70-80$ in used condition). I would not compare it to GPS units that cost 160$+ while NEW. I was shocked! I expected to be able to download updates for free and NOT have to pay 70$ for them! 6) maps are only for the 43 Sates OF US. Canada is not even included! 7) only one accent/voice is available Averall: it is good if you are only prepared to pay 70-80$ and gets you around quite nicely.

Terrible GPS Unit
I should've save my money, like i'm doing now, for a Garmin 3790LTM. Don't get this GPS if you live anywhere that is constantly doing road work, b/c this thinkg is so out dated it wants me to cut through people's yards to get to places near our home which is just 100' from a main road. This GPS wants us to take so many round about ways to make a simple trip take forever, I like to use the stupid thing to go to places that I know how to get to, but if I was from out of town and tried to use it I'd waste so much money in gas it'd be ridiculous. So do yourself a favor, save up for a quality GPS unit that gets constant Map + Traffic updates and Learns the ways you like to travel and you'll be happy.I should've save my money, like i'm doing now, for a Garmin 3790LTM.
