Wanted smartphone without data charges
I wanted a combo PDA & phone (smartphone) without paying extra for a data package thru Verizon. I don't need internet on my phone. This is really a handheld computer that also makes/takes calls. Good for gizmo people who like PDAs - not good for people who things nice and simple. I spent hours setting it up and experimenting to make it do the tings I want. (sync with Outlook and a few files, alert when appointments approaching...) Pro: bigger screen touch screen - responds to fingernail, enclosed stylus, or tip of pen transcriber feature (converts handwriting to text) Windows mobile - same as my PDA voice calling camera with flash slide open keyboard Verizon support forum website for this phone wi-fi scroll wheel on side good battery smooth design, feels good in my hand sync with Outlook ... It is not my favorite tech tool - I use it and tolerate it. Looking forward to something better.

Very good Phone. Keyboard sometimes duplicates the buttons which is very annoying but I just use the touchscreen keyboard. Wireless doesnt seem to work unless you turn the hard switch on and then switch it off and on again with the software switch. I like the size of the camera frame. But it takes about regular quality 2mp pictures. If you are looking too overclock this phone. Then this phone is probably not for you. I shortly searched for ways to overclock only to discover its not compatible with existing overclocking software, because of its processor. Maybe they will have some soon though. Always be sure to research before you buy. If you like windows mobile phones this one is good. Beware of wireless and keyboard problems as mentioned. I have heard that some of the XV6800s phones ... Great organization tool
If you need a simple tool to help keep your business organized, this is a great option. The PDA functions keep records and appointments and exchange with Outlook when you get back to the office. This is one of the few (actually the only one I personally know of) that does not require an expensive data plan if you don't need or want one. It still works in hot spots if you occasionally do need online access. Voice dial through bluetooth is another plus. As of yet, I haven't heard of the Droid having that capability. Perhaps the next OS upgrade for the Droid will address that. One complaint I do have though is that the display of incoming callers is too small to see at just a glance. You have to really look at it to read it well. This is a liability when you have to concentrate on ... If you need a simple tool to help keep your business organized, this is a great option. Poor mans Luxury
I bought this phone because my friend has a windows phone similar to it and his was fairly nice. (mines better) When i first got it it took me two weeks to figure out everything it can do. With fairly fast internet and the fastest downloading ive seen so far i fell in love instantly. As all windows products do it has gliches wich take a few restarts to fix, and because its basically a handheld computer with a phone in it it can get confusing if you plan to use it like you would a simple phone. Over all its a nice and usable smart phone, if its all you can afford its a nice buy, But as technology develops with the new droids and iphones and ease of use is steadily obtained this phone is quickly becoming obsolete.I bought this phone because my friend has a windows phone similar to it and his was fairly nice.
