About this product

Product Information

The third game in Level-5's brain teaser series, Professor Layton and the Unwound Future takes the Professor's adventures into the fourth dimension after he and his apprentice Luke receive a strange letter from ten years in the future. Gamers then guide the duo through more than 165 math, science, logic, and visual puzzles, winding their way through a time-hopping mystery that threatens to destroy London. Hand-drawn cinematics help advance the game's plot, and the enhanced Memo Pad lets players use the touch screen to work out math problems and take notes using "pens" of different colors and widths. Online gamers have the added bonus of using Nintendo's wireless network to download one new puzzle for the first 30 weeks after the game is released.

    Throwback but worth while

Awesome way to get the your kid off the smash and kill video games and to play a learning game that is also like a video game. The game is a detective who done it and the player has to track down all the clues to help solve the mystery. There are plot twists and when you think you know the culprit, you might be wrong. Graphics are a little throwback but the games are a little dated. That doesn't mean your child won't like it, just it's not as 3D as the newer games.

  • Professor Layton and the Unwound Future (Nintendo DS, 2010)

The latest entry in the Professor Layton series is pretty much the perfect portable game, assuming of course that you're into puzzle solving. It's fun and quick to pick up and play, with high production values and a ton of content. If you've played earlier entries in the series, then you won't be too surprised by this one - it follows a fairly similar formula. Professor Layton and Luke (his faithful assistant) travel to London in order to see a demonstration of a brand new invention: the Time Machine. Things go a little haywire with the demonstration, and then a few days later the Professor receives a letter in the mail from Luke - sent from 10 years in the future! This kicks off a whole adventure of puzzle solving, and things only get crazier from there. Professor ...

  • Professor Layton and the Unwound Future: Amazing, I love it.

I cannot explain how much I love this game. It is one of my childhood games and I'm so glad I was able to buy it and have it on my hand again. I inserted the cartridge on my 3ds and it seems to be working fine. I didn't play it, though. The game came well-packaged and in great conditions. It came super early too and it didn't get damaged on its way here. So far I give 5 stars.

  • Puzzies and Riddies

I have about 5 hours on Unwound Future. Luke is absolutely adorable, and Professor Layton is kind and charming. The puzzles are actually compelling, but not so complex that I want to quit the game. The plot is worth following, if not just to watch Luke and Layton interact with the world. After binging Phoenix Wright, this is a great series to get into.

  • I got it for just $13 and it is worth far more than that

I am a Professor Layton fan, so my review might be a little biased, but I will try to be as honest about it as possible. If you have played any Professor Layton game in the past, you know what you should expect from the gameplay. You are playing as the two main protagonists, Layton and Luke, and try to solve as many puzzles as possible in order to progress in the story. In my opinion, the story is the most captivating aspect of the game. While there over 165 puzzles to solve, you will find yourself skipping some of the optional ones until you finish the story just because you will be so interested in seeing how it will end. There a lot of twists (some more predictable than others) and you will most likely love visiting all the places that the game forces you to visit throughout the ...
