    Works very well

    We have an internet enabled TV. Commercials often blast through at very high volume. I connected the Terk VR-1 to the headphone jack on the TV, and the output to a high end blue-tooth speaker. The sound is now great with level sound output.

    You get what you pay for..

    The unit does level out loud/soft sounds, however it unfortunately introduces a 60hz hum. I tried 3 different powersupplies with and without hum-filters to no avail. its not loud but its there, enough to be annoying Also, you should leave the power on permanently on this unit: As it boots up it generates a lot of static, which gradually fades away completely. However it doesnt sound nice at all. The switch in front does not power off the unit, it only bypasses the signal.

    This thing works miserably with very ann...

    This thing works miserably with very annoying pops added to the audio in quiet parts of the program material. I had one of these years ago and it worked perfectly until it failed possibly from being on 24/7 for a long period of time. I subsequently did some research and it sounds like internally this is not the same as the previous unit I had that looked identical on the outside, and the popping is a common complaint.

    It works. But, as presumed, it compresses the sound strongly. It might good for BGM. But, if you want some sound quality, this is not for you.
