    Great unit!

    I use mine in a standalone application so my PC can safely shut down in the event of a power failure. I often run on generator power, so I have been using Smart UPS's for years. This was the first new one I have ever bought. The price was an amazing opportunity so I bought it, despite some of the negative reviews I've read regarding loud fans that run all the time. First of all, there is no fan in this unit. I believe there is in the larger units but none here. The front panel LCD display is great. It cycles through all of the important status information without having to touch it. You can do a reasonably amount of configuration thru the front panel, but I set mine up using the PowerChute Business edition interface. This unit used v9.2, which is much better laid out than v9.1 IMHO. Al in ...

    Fair price for a good prodouct

    The item was exactly as advertised, it has some wear on the case but works as it should. If you are needing a good smart backup UPS I highly recommend this model. I had purchased one of these new about 10 years ago and have never had a problem with it, only routine battery replacement. Due to working from home and expanding my home office I needed another UPS. I have occasional power fluctuations and would have my computers lose material that I was working on and would have to recreate whatever I had not backed-up to that point as the computers would shut down. The smart UPS has eliminated this irritating problem.

    My favorite UPS.

    This is probably the 8th or 9th one of these that I've purchased over the past ten years. They've been utterly reliable and easy to operate. The batteries can be replaced while "live", so you don't have to shut down the stuff that's plugged into them. Also, if you go to shut it down from the front panel, you have to arrow down and confirm -- so, they won't go down if someone bumps the button, or if a curious toddler pokes at them.
