The Stone Edition Tanach (1996)
I give this a good rating, only because I have not read it all. It should have an excellent rating, because it is a continuation of my reading of the Chumash (which I purchased at a book store for 3x the price of this find on ebay). I like to search out the scriptures. There are a looks of books out there interpreting the Bible. For me, the best way is the read the King James, compare it to the Amplified (more description) and then read my Stone Edition Chumash. That is reading the same scripture (chapters, etc) and then getting what the Jewish scholars have to say about that era. After all, Jesus was Jewish. If you want to know more about Jesus, study the old testament. If you want to know about the old testament go to the Jewish version. Hence, my ebay purchase of the Tanach. ... They are written in Hebrew with English interpretation and the wonderful commentaries by Jewish scholars. Don't just trust what your preacher tells you that your King James Bible means. First of all read that King James Bible and see if it witnesses to your spirit. Then branch out to the original Hebrew old testament and find out more.

Contains the Hebrew text of the 24 Books of the Hebrew Bible, a commentary anthologised from Rabbinic sources. One can see that alot of work went into this edition of the Bible. If you are Jewish, you will enjoy the various commentaries explaining the Biblical text. If you are not Jewish, the various commentaries will open your eyes to an entirely new understanding of the Bible, one that you probably were not aware of and which makes sense the flow of the Biblical text.
