  • A historical tale of Doctor Who that you will remember as one of the classics of the series!

"Hieronymus, you traitor!" is a line you'll remember the evil Count Frederico shouting after you watch this story. A historical story featuring The Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith as they travel in the TARDIS to renaissance Italy bringing an unknown energy force with them that will cause destruction and death to all if it's not discovered and stopped in time! The production and directing are fabulous as the scenes are beautifully shot in the UK to resemble that of Italy during it's renaissance period, and the costumes are fantastic! The Doctor is forced to engage in sword fighting, battle occult science and prevent a masquerade from turning deadly in an effort to stop the Mandragora Helix from consuming all!

  • Good episode,give it a try

This is one of the best Tom Baker episodes. In spite of the low production values the story is well told and as always Baker adds just the right touch of whimsy to the story.
