Great CD's; Expected broken Case
This 2 CD set has all the songs from 3 LP Albums that Ronstadt did with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra. They are all smooth jaz songs and her voice is truly amazing. I have one of the albums and am looking for the other two. I wanted the CD to play on computer. Jewel case is broken, but I knew that and was only interested in the CD's.

Stick to rock’n roll Linda
Give her full marks for effort, she did the Mexican music phase, then these old obscure songs from my parent’s era, mostly not very melodic and certainly not familiar today. I kept maybe 3 or 4 on my playlist, the rest deleted. She has a great voice and lots of great albums. This isn’t one.

Vocals that bring back the golden age of crooning
The best thing about the recordings is the lack of artificial enhancement...all you get is incredible orchestrations, performed by "professional" musicians, and capped of with the crystal clear, "made for the forties" voice of Linda Ronstadt, clearly in her prime. Another thing that impresses me aboput this recording is....Ms. Ronstadt certainly did not have to do this type of recording...she was, by all means, a star in her own right at the time. Rather it was her extreme interest and fascination with the crooners of the big band era, that led her away from the pop music to the grand ballrooms of a bygone era. Wonderful Music!
This CD set is out of production, so you can only get a used set. The orchestration is very good - done just right. That, combined with Ronstadt's voice, makes this a collector's item. Also, I normally only listen to rock and country. At the same time, I love Nelson Riddle's music because it is so well done.
