    Problem: Premature flapper closing on 1985 Kohler Toilet

    New Fluidmaster 501 flapper corrected premature flapper closing. 1. Shut off water supply. 2. Remove old flapper. 3. Install new flapper. 4. Turn on water supply. 5. Test. 6. Adjust chain length. 7. Retest. 8. Worked perfect. 9. Put cover back on tank. 10. Total Time: About 5 minutes.

    Be sure to offer the product you show in your picture

    As Industrial Supply is the group behind shipping the products their picture as shown above shows an adjuster ring which is key for toilets that were made before 1994. But upon receiving the flappers it was missing the adjuster rings and the price on each one is $12.50. The flappers they sent could have been bought at any retail store for $6 or less. They need to pull the picture which is advertising is incorrectly. We were able to go to Fluid Master to make it right. Having a right picture is vital when advertising a product. Industrial Supply did issue us a credit for the purchase price and we will donate what they sent to one with a more current toilet model that can use it.

    the older style seal better

    I prefer the older style flapper to the newer water saver hard plastic flapper. The flapper made of a solid plastic tend to not seal as well as the softer rubber flapper does. Once before I was able to find a soft rubber flapper that was water saving but could not find one this time

    Flush Toilet Tank Flapper

    It arrived in good time, but the rubber part was a bit "crushed" when we got it and it took one or two days for it to reform itself back to original shape if you will because it was making the toilet leak refill water and it would completely sit properly to do its job. We had to reset it several times during the 2 days until it finally held in place to make the tank refill and stay that way consistently. I think that the packaging needs to be better protected so as not allow it to be dented.
