    Amazing album!

    Legendary album, featuring Duane “Sky Dog” Allman, who took slide guitar virtuosity to dizzying heights. A few months earlier, he had joined Derek and The Dominos and his presence and playing on the Layla album, really made a difference; and turned a great album into an an all-time classic. The Filmore concerts is not merely an incredible, live performance by the Allman Brothers Band; it is, in the view of many people, (Myself included), the greatest live recording in rock history. Tragically, within four months of the last concert at the Filmore, Duane was killed in a road accident, in which his motorcycle hit a pothole and unable to control the bike, he was thrown off and smashed into a truck. He was a month away from his twenty-fifth birthday.
