If you are using an apple time capsule as your wireless router base station these work perfectly to extend the wifi range either wirelessly or via wired connection. Was able to extend the network in my house wirelessly within literally 5 minutes of plugging it in and utilizing apple's airport utility on my mac. You can also monitor who is connected to your network from your iphone with the airport utility app downloaded. I have a wired connection of roughly 300-400 mbps, so these wireless routers and range extenders, although a bit older do not hinder speed. If you have true gig speed internet from a wired connection I would maybe look at a newer router because of speeds. But these work fine and provide a very stabile and trouble free wireless solution for my house.

This is my third Airport Express, so I have experience with installation and set up. The device arrived with instructions only in Spanish. After having multiple problems with the setup, I delved deeply into the software and noticed it only gave me Eastern countries, such as China when it asked where we would be using it. Interesting. I had a horrific time trying to connect it and keep it connected to our network. After numerous attempts, it is finally working and I am keeping my fingers crossed that it won't fail again.

Took about two minute to set up the Apple Airport Express to extend my wireless network (Apple AirPort Extreme Time Capsule). Works amazingly! I was previously using another brand mid-range extender and it just wasn't cutting it. Now I have 100+Mbps throughout my entire house. I also hooked up an old quality PC sound system to it, that had been sitting in a closet for a few years. I can now airplay my music through those speakers for some amazing sound that goes throughout the house! Extremely pleased with the Apple Airport Express, and highly recommend it!

This is pretty decent rather compact dual band N router. The router is pretty easy to manage with the Windows, Macintosh and iPhone apps. It pretty much does what you would expect from a router and painlessly forms mesh networks with other Apple routers, even different Apple models. A neat feature is the airplay jack that allows Windows/Macs running iTunes to stream audio to speakers plugged into the router. I also like that the router uses a standard power cord, not an obnoxious dongle. This router is a discontinued product but it has received some firmware updates in 2019.

Apple AirPort Express Base Station Wireless Router is a good and inexpensive way to expand your network's reach within your home, especially if you already are using an AirPort Extreme (abbrev. Extreme) primary LAN (local area network) router. First, locate the AirPort Express (Express) physically where you think it will do the most good--e.g., the other end of the house yet within signal range of your primary router. Any wireless router should be place high up near the ceiling of the room in which it is located in order to obtain the greatest signal range. Next, plug in the Express and return to your Mac computer, where you will find and open the AirPort Utility app. The app will almost immediately find the Express and ask whether you want to add it as a bridge router to your present network. Answer 'yes' and the connection is made. The Express will repeat synchronously the data signals received from the Extreme and transmitted by users on your LAN. Adding an AirPort Express will not increase the speed of your network, since it is limited by the speed of data transferred through the Extreme. However, you should find that you have full signal strength available for wireless devices throughout the house now, especially in areas where before signals were weak, intermittent, or non-existent. The price of an AirPort Express is inexpensive compared to the benefits it offers, and for Mac users, it could not be easier to set up and use. I strongly recommend this approach to extending the range and strength of your LAN. Read full review
