    Good book on Shay Locomotive pictures.

    Excellent photos of Shay, Heisler, and Climax steam engines. These were all rounded up for scrap metal during WW2 and only a few survive today. There are also several excellent shots of high wooden trestle bridges, both complete and under construction. All photos were taken in the great Northwest, local around Seattle during the boom days of timbering the local giant trees.

    Kinsey Photographer: The Locomotive Portraits

    If you are the least bit interested in geared steam or logging operations, this book is a must have.. It is filled with superb photographs of Shays, Climaxes, Heislers, Willamettes,and even rodded steam locomotives. This affordable coffee-table book is readily available in presentable condition for less than $20.

    This book is exactly what I was looking for!!!!!-I am starting to get into model trains,narrow guage-HNo3. This book is a treasure trove of pictues,history and explainations of the logging RR.

    great book,stories and photos better then expected.could use more geared locomotive photos.probably in volumes 1 and 2.
