    Upgrade for a laptop

    I got this as an upgrade for a friends laptop that was running slowly. It replaced a B950 CPU and this part is identical in every way, except it runs faster but doesn't get any hotter. A B980 would have been very slightly better, but they are maybe 3-4 times the cost of the B970 so not really cost effective. So, what with replacing the heatsink compound on the CPU, plus hoovering out the dust and detritus in the grille (by the fan) has now breathed new life into a 3 year old laptop - and all for just a few pounds and a bit of knowledge about how to disassemble the laptop (thank you Youtube !!)
