The Manfrotto 808RC4 Tripod Head is built for the Professional Photographer. Solid construction and most important is the brilliant well balanced design. Handles for positioning the camera quickly and easily are the right length and grip to make camera movement a breeze. Once you have your camera pointed exactly where you want it you can 'taper' the position hold with friction grip the handles provide also. For my wants and needs in photography is just doesn't get any better than the Mantrotto 808RC4.The Manfrotto 808RC4 Tripod Head is built for the Professional Photographer. Manfrotto 804rc2 tripod head not as smooth as it should be
One expects a tripod head for video to move up/down, side to side in smooth motion. This Manfrotto 804rc2 tripod head does not. The initial movement requires an extra effort creating a jerking motion. Once in motion it's fairly smooth but even then there are spots where resistance is evident. Loosening the drag knob helps a little bit. It's not a video head that I'd recommend for video shooting. All that I said may only pertain to the head that I received. It appeared new but?One expects a tripod head for video to move up/down, side to side in smooth motion. This Manfrotto 804rc2 tripod head does not. I have searched several manufacturers and can definetely say that Manfrotto have got items in their line which are really good quality and with reasonable price tag. This particular item is my second tripod head, i have got similar item and when I bought second tripod there was no thinking about which tripod head to buy. I have now been using previously purchased 808RC4 for over 6 month and I can say that this is very well designed item which has got tough and solid build. I use it quite a lot as i travel and take lots of photographs during night time and after my ... Monfrotto 3 Way Pan Tilt Quick Release
Built Ford tuff. It's a little heavy which some people would not like but I like it because it helps keep my camera steady. I'm always on move and as a wedding photographer I appreciate the extra weight to prevent camera shake.

Helped in the studio a lot. Solid and a great performer.
I upgraded from the 3-way RC2 head. It wasn't strong enough for my rig. This head, however, is fantastic! Solid, smooth and the RC4 plate surface area is much more substantial. Well done Manfrotto. I will be getting a few more RC4 plates here on ebay to put on all my cameras (it has a coin screw instead of D-Ring screw like the RC2. Great pan head!
