Very nice deck and speedy shipping.

I've been using Teac equipment for almost 50 years. This cd player sounds great, and reads all types of discs. It's compact, easy to use, and has a nice rc. I was worried about shipping. The unit arrived in excellent condition.

    Needed work

I bought this as an open box return, so I got it for like $85. shipped. It did not work at first. I had trouble getting the CD drawer to open up. I opened up the unit and found a few issues. The pulley on the motor was not in line with the driven pulley, so the belt was slipping. The tray had plastic burrs on the edges. I broke the edges and removed some casting flash. I found another interference problem with a protrusion that rides in a track to pop the drawer out the last little bit to fully open the drawer. After taking care of these problems the CD player works just fine.

  • great value gets the job done

Teac is a reliable manufacturer who builds in high value for reasonable cost. This is a solid basic deck and great price that fits what I was looking for. I needed a CD player with good old fashioned RCA jack outputs, which is getting hard to find in "home" decks. The USB interface on this one is a bonus and perhaps in the future will be useful to us but I don't have an iPod and was disappointed that my Galaxy S5 is not recognized as a USB drive. That would have been a big bonus but since I needed a CD player first and foremost, it's no big deal. I put in a CD that an older machine does not track well (off center!), this one played it perfectly. Very low noise sound quality is good to my ears and I'm a sound professional. I'm happy!

  • Competent and well built

A fantastic bit of kit. Easy to set up, an integrated anti-skate which is easy to use unlike the inferior Pro-ject in this price range which uses a fishing line and weight. You can change speed on the fly via electronic control, unlike Pro-Ject and others that you must physically change the belt upon a pulley. What's more, it uses a motor that has been used for decades and with a strobe disk you can adjust speed via two adjustment ports underneath. This was not even a consideration with the likes or Pro-Ject. The construction is first rate, and unlike Musichall and Pro-Ject, does not feel like something made in a high school woodshop. You can do no better than this little gem at this price other than vintage used. Don't listen to the snake oil salesmen on the web and youtube. This ...

  • Good sound, smooth operation

This was a floor model that I paid $75 for. Arrived in original packaging with no outer box, but there was no damage. At first I thought it was DOA, because the CD door would not open or close. After reading manual, I realized the red LED over the power switch lights up when the device is turned OFF. A peculiar design feature, but once you know it, all is okay. Works smoothly and the sound is terrific through my NAD amplifier-- in which the built-in CD has failed. I can enjoy my classical CDs again! I've had it for two weeks now. The only question now is how long it will last. But for the price and quality It seems worth the risk.
