Product Information
In the 1800s, Richard Wagner of Germany composed an epic opera entitled the Cycle of the Ring, based on his country's cornerstone in mythology, the legend of Eddas. Taking the story and recreating it as his own, Wagner used this material to develop the legend of Nibelungen. Now, well over a century later, Arxel Tribe and Cryo Entertainment have taken Wagner's story and created their own interpretation, a game featuring excerpts from the opera as its score.<br><br>In this science fiction-based adaptation of the story, you assume the guise of ISH, a 40th-century descendent of the long-destroyed planet Earth. It is the job of this individual to guide four warriors from the past against the antagonists of their respective times. The figures he will control include Alberich the Tyrant, a dwarf; Loge, the fire spirit; Siegmund, the wolf's son; and Brunnhilde, the proud Valkyrie. ISH may partake in their adventures in any order and controls them by adopting their persona as he leads them through their world. Puzzles are solved by gathering and placing items properly, sometimes activiting certain mechanisms along the way.<br><br>Once ISH adopts a persona, your view is first person as you encounter each screen in the character's world. These 3D screens allow you to look up, down, forward and behind as you stand in one spot. In order to pick up items, look at things or advance to another screen, you must click your mouse when the pointer indicates that such an action is possible. As the character moves to another screen or encounters some sort of action sequence, the perspective switches to third person as you watch a motion-capture FMV sequence.
