    Will need a few inevitable upgrades

    The R-200 I received is cosmetically perfect, beautiful to look at, even the shiny brass knobs with markers. Electronically, after 60 years, it is inevitable that a few repairs will be needed. The major one is converting the inefficient selenium rectifier to a modern silicon type, then adding an extra resistor and electrolytic capacitor to knock down the higher B+ voltage. Tubes need to be checked for amplification strength. One tube (6HR6) was never manufactured in quantity and is nearly impossible to find. There may be substitute types, but that will need to be researched. Probably, one or more of the 5 pilot lamps will need replacement.
