    It looks good, but.....

    I love the original packaging! The hard case was perfect and I wish all N scale locomotives were packaged that way. The tender truck has a Micro Trains coupler on an aftermarket mount- it protrudes out from the tender way too far and is canted at an angle. This makes it very difficult in coupling cars. The engine will not stay on the track- the front pilot continually derails after a few feet, which we theorize may be due to the odd angle of the tender coupler. This engine will need some TLC to see if I can get it to pull cars around the layout without derailing. Micro surgery on an N scale steamer is not my specialty, but in this case I'd like to see if I can get it to perform reliably. Rather disappointing performance and I would not purchase another!
