  • Great full VR

Understanding this is the first commercial version of VR, HTC did a great job! After careful set up by instructions I had no problems in setting up my Vive. I had also started downloading lots of free software on Steam as soon as it shipped. So I was ready to jump into the VR realm. It was impressive. Movement through twleporting seems to be the easiest. Google Earth VR let's you fly, and it seems something like that would be hard to control in a game that was not, in fact, a flying game. So moving around my cleared and defined area, ducking and weaving while shooting a bow at life sized orcs is almost a dream for an old gamer like me. It still is not perfect of course, I have found people tend to turn in the same direction so the cord needs to be unwound. And I recommend looping the cord through something like an eye hook by the computer to lessen pulling on the hardware. There are only a few buttons, so interactions are somewhat limited, but I don't miss it. When you are standing up and moving about, a few buttons is all you need. You can get a decent workout fighting Orcs or Zombies. Overall I see quote q few up for resale, but mine won't be. My son and I are really enjoying our forays into VR, and I have even bought a few games now. I may have to buy extra foam facepieces. We do get sweaty. The headset seems kind of heavy when you put it on, but you adjust it and forget fairly quickly.

  • VR is simply amazing and the HTC Vive is hands down the best device for it...

Steam partnered with HTC, yes the same people that made the popular phones in the early 2000s, to produce the Vive and the result is nothing short of awesome. The quality of the HTC Vive is fantastic, a nice heavy construction that feels solid. The design of the Vive offers comfortable head placement although there is slight forward pressure from the limited head strap configuration, with that said however the Vive offers a modular design allowing for 3rd party accessories to be used in the future such as after market head straps and headphones. Over all I am extremely happy with the Vive and I’m glad I spent the extra money on it over the Oculus. If your looking into VR then I would strongly recommend the HTC Vive as the community behind the Vive, Steam, is taking VR in bold directions by offering stronger 3rd party open development over the now Zuckerberg controlled propriety oculus.

  • Excellent Product

Headset functions excellently. Controllers work great! The box was a little beatup, but the hardware all functioned 100%! Responsive seller! :)

  • A Great VR headset

Made even better by a 2017 gear VR lens swap! A $10 upgrade that really improves this headset. Vive controls are a great and came with some silicone covers for them.

  • I love VR.

When I first tried VR at a party I was skeptical, but after going through four fights of 3 rounds each in “thrill of the fight” I was bathed in sweat. I knew then that I had found my new workout. The fact is that “working out” involves “working” but with VR it’s more like playing, than working.

  • Fun!

This was a gift to my son for his birthday. He loves it. I was so glad to find a very nice, gently used one for a good price.

  • Great beginner headset.

It's a great entry level headset and it does a great job playing most games. The only problem is that it's not great for any kind of shooter game as the d-pad doesn't work well.

  • When it works

It's good when it works, but it has been cutting in and out of working for some reason. I tried changing the cables and uninstalling / reinstalling drivers. When it works, it's great, but when it doesn't. =/

  • I would highly recommend this product. Check your computer specs though. Requires a pretty powerful gaming computer.

Very cool and fun. Opened a whole new world of gaming for me
