        Great little hard drive with lots of space

        I bought this to replace a dying 3.5" external desktop HD. I am using it with the FireWire 800 port on my late-2007 iMac to store my photo library -- and thanks to the USB 3.0 port, I will be able to continue using it when I upgrade to a newer iMac without FireWire. There is more than enough space on this drive to accommodate my library as it grows. It comes with all necessary wires for use with FireWire and USB. It draws power through the FireWire or USB cable, which means that it's always available when I turn on my computer and I don't need to plug it into my UPS or remember to flip a separate switch (as I did for my previous external HD). The only downside is that the light stays on even when the computer is off, which seems like a waste of energy.

        You can't beat this deal!

        I purchased this item several months ago and waited to write this review to see if any problems would occur. So far so good. Excellent value, G Drive Mobile quality and portability... The only thing that surprised me is that 99 people haven't joined me in making a good comment!?
