    Not just of historical interest - but also first rate entertainment.

    Every one of the films in this valuable boxed set - one of several in the "Forbidden Hollywood" collection - is entertaining - and not just to cineastes and university film students. The digital re-imaging of every one of them is a good as can be imagined - all of them look as bright and new as they might have looked to an audience viewing them as new productions 80 or so years ago. It's possible that these movies are in even better shape than that - since the films seen in our country's movie houses far and wide were often copies several times removed from the original masters of the films on view - while the films I've viewed in this set look like they might be the initially produced versions - an amazing technical accomplishment.
