Matribox 1 - good value
The best thing about the Matribox is the ability to pick an amp, a speaker cabinet, and up to 7 effects and arrange those effects in any order the user chooses. I played it through earbuds and through headphones and the headphones definitely sounded better. I have yet to put it through the POWER AMP IN jack on my amp, so this is not by any means a complete review. Of the 99 factory presets, there are about 20 that are for bass, not usable by me. The high gain presets are REALLY high gain, be warned. And in many cases the reverb is excessive and needs to be dialed down, but this is what the user presets are for. With these caveats, the sound quality is generally excellent and there was no noticeable noise. The user interface and software are intuitive, with almost no learning curve. ...
