This unusual late 1970s/early 1980s sci-fi series features Joanna Lumley and David McCallum as Sapphire and Steel (respectively), otherworldly operatives who appear as humans on Earth to right mysterious wrongs. In ASSIGNMENT I (the first six episodes), Sapphire and Steel must deal the disappearance of two parents and the children left behind. ASSIGNMENT II (eight episodes) focuses on a ghost of a WWI soldier, and ASSIGNMENT III (six episodes) involves time travel. This collection presents all 20 episodes.

Classic of late 70's early 80's British Sci-Fi
It's an oldie but a goody , first assignment seemed slow to me even back in the Seventies but assignments 2 and 3 made up for that. The characters still appeal and it is really good to see the two leads in their prime polishing their acting skills. It's a classic of late 70's early 80's British Sci-Fi with a nice transfer onto DVD .

Unique late 1970s and early 1980s surreal drama starring David McCallum (Man From Uncle) and Joanna Lumley (The New Avengers, Absolutely Fabulous). They are agents of chemical continuum who solve and repair situations. It amounts to a detective drama of periodic specifications with other 'elements' making an appearance. Suspend disbelief and be entertained.
