Deadwood preps itself for its first elections as it enters the Dakota territory, with Seth Bullock vs. Harry Manning (sheriff) and Sol Star vs. E.B. Farnum (mayor).

    Great drama, great acting, a series about the old Western adventures

    Deadwood is a combination of western, drama, set in the 1800s when gold was being found in the hills of a small settlement in the US. It's a TV drama series now available on DVD. This colleciton is the best value if you haven't seen it. A lot of Friday movie nights as you work through the episodes. Great acting (who doesn't like Ian McShane and all the other actors are great). Why did I get it, well, haven't seen the TV series, grew up on Sat matinee movies which was nearly always a good old style western, Roy Rogers, Lone Ranger style, some of the stuff on TV is not engaging, and I like a story line, and Deadwood has these in heaps. Also it's set in a different era so the scenery and sets and costumes make it interesting. Check out the reviews elsewhere to see if it's for you, ...

    Gritty, the real Wild West

    An early (2004 - 2006) HBO TV Series well worth watching. Gritty and very real. Timothy Olyphant is brilliant in his role as Seth Bullock.
