First of all, I would like to thank the awesome seller. For these 1000 mile boots, I love them. They are the mini-lug sole ones with 360 Goodyear welt. Very nice Horween leather. They definitely take a bit of breaking in, but when done, are very comfy. I also have a few pairs of Iron Rangers that I love. And a pair of Thursday Captains. If you can imagine...IMO..the 1000 mile falls right in between those. These 1000 mile boots are rugged, have a gusseted tonque, that min-lug, and thick leather...like an Iron Ranger, but are a little narrower at the toe and a little more dressy. You can wear 1000 mile boots with a suit if you wanted to and look rugged enough with jeans too, like the Captain, yet, they are not as dressy as the Captain, which is even narrower at the toe than the 1000 mile and the Captain has a non gusseted tongue and the leather is not as thick. IMO the 1000 mile boot does a better job at what the Captain does, but is more expensive, and this reflects in the materials and build.
