Almost a Logitech Marble Trackball....but Not Quite

This is a LARGE trackball, which is perfect for any operation requiring detailed operation (CAD, Painting, etc.) as well as general everyday usage. The 4 triggering buttons are well placed and responsive, the whole housing is quite ergonomically designed for an extraordinarily comfortable fit - regardless if you have small hands and fingers, or large paws like me. The scroll ring is the high point of this trackball, since it is not a mouse, there is no scrolling wheel. Almost all other trackballs have no ability to scroll except to move the ball along the drawbar - and most trackballs' ball is too small to be delicate enough to just move a line at a time. The scroll ring acts just like a scroll wheel on a mouse and is extremely accurate. So why the 4 stars instead of 5? You have to ...

Good device with correctible ergonomic issue

I am a trackball fan; I thin they can provide the best general mouse service; most especially, I think a trackball, properly designed, is least likely to cause strain to the wrist and arm. We have a number of ITAC trackballs in service, they are built like the proverbial brick outhouse and they are very good for long sessions at the computer. But I recently had a couple that needed service (after a decade or so of active use...), and I needed a fill-in. The Kensington Expert and Slimblade models were the best options I could find. I opted for the Expert, based on its included wrist rest. It is mechanically simple and appears robust. The scroll ring is convenient and works well — a selling point. However, the hand position when using the unit is a problem. The angle of the unit ...

      • great large stationary mouse!

Excellent mouse for those with muscle cramping issues and carple tunnel and vision problems. I have vision problems and this mouse replaced a similar serial version from the 80s with no scroll ring which was anoying. I love the flexability and features this mouse has for what I payed for it preowned. I only wish they redesigned it with a standard scroll wheel and placed it between the two top buttons instead. I tend to bump it from time to time and it can be a little distracting. If there was a way to disable it in sofware and assign top left, top right to scroll up and down respectively that would be good enough for me for now, I am sure there is a way. Besides the little wheel issue there is nothing really to complain about I absolutely love this thing and super happy to have found it ...

      • Great mouse for beginners or experts

Solid mouse. Trackball feels natural in your hand and makes workflow much easier. Really useful for my setup at home. While it’s a bit noisy it is still very much worth it. Especially if you find a deal on these models. Next best thing to this one would easily be the wireless or thinner version of the expert trackball mouse.

      • Used by professionals of many types of business and software

I went to a power plant several years ago as a visitor and the control room had 8 large monitors with 8 of these trackballs in front of all of them. I tried one and now I have 1 of these in front of both of my systems with large monitors. Oh yeah, 1 at work also. Never looked back. 4 buttons will do 6 functions of your choice. The wired version is very precise.
