Packaging strong and secure: rolled, tied, boxed, with box wrapped tightly in heavy plastic. Rug itself squeaky clean. Cleaning solution sprayed on, then wiped off with a white towel turned up no trace of dirt. (This done at a professional carpet washing/repair/storage company.) Rug got an A+ check-up.
