Meet Gung-Ho, also known as Ettienne R. Lafitte, the G.I. Joe team's original Marine. This Hasbro G.I. Joe Gung-Ho fighter is based on the 25th anniversary set of the action figures. As an updated release, it includes added articulation points in the wrists and knees. Both collectors and fans can enjoy hours of fun posing Gungo-Ho and putting him in battle scenes.After the first Gung-Ho action figure was released back in 1983, it was followed by the 1987 version, which featured the distinctive character in blue dress uniform. In 1993, Gung-Ho Joe resurfaced as the commander of the Mega Marines, this time featuring moldable bio-armor. Numerous versions have followed since then.This 25th-anniversary Gung-Ho G.I. Joe action figure is an E-7 Grade Sergeant. According to G.I. Joe records, his place of birth was Fer-de-Lance in Louisiana. Gung-Ho's primary specialty is Recondo and his secondary specialty is as a Jungle Warfare Training Instructor. This unique character was born in a Cajun swamp clan before moving to New Orleans, where he gained a reputation as a tough brawler and knife fighter. He joined the Marines when he was 18 years old and later graduated at the top of his boot camp class at Parris Island. He is clearly capable of handling some of the toughest battles with his nemesis, the Cobra. Known as the scariest, hairiest, and craziest Marine to survive the Parris Island swamp, Gung-Ho is a force to be reckoned with.This G.I. Joe action fighter features a mean, brown mustache to go with his intimidating, bald head. He sports a dark green hat, light blue vest that is open at the front, and gray boots. His pants are green and feature light blue camouflage, and he proudly shows off a large blue Marine tattoo on his chest. This Gung-Ho action fighter also comes with a light blue backpack to carry supplies. His weapons include a black XM-76 grenade launcher. There is a knife by his left boot ankle, a watch on his left hand, a woven belt around his waist, and other small details painted on this figure as well. He was part of the second series of characters, also known as the 1983 series, deployed to fight Cobra Commander, their arch enemy.As a durable and very entertaining toy, lovers of action figures will get a lot out of this toy. This G.I. Joe is detailed, flexible, and poseable, so you can display this tough guy in many different stances. He attended Airborne School, Recondo School, and even the Marine Corps Ordinance School.
