For use with PA
Most lavs work fine when shooting audio for video, hard wired or wireless. But when a PA is part of the audio chain, most lavs, being omnidirectional, will feed back in the sound system before a good audience level is attained. The W184, being super directional, allows for quite a bit more gain from the sound system before reaching feedback. If you're recording more than one person, in my case up to six, it is imperative to have the super-cardioid mics. The Shure W184 is perfect for this.
