Works well after a modification.
When I first got this, it didn't heat very well. I could touch it and not even get a warm finger. I got curious. What I noticed is the plug is sort of a light duty version. It doesn't make a real good connection. It also comes unplugged real easy as well. I took some pliers and slightly bent the plug blades so it would make a better connection. It worked well after that plus it stayed plugged in better as well. Before that it would unplug with the lightest pull on the cord. I may put a better plug on it later. Given the wattage, even a el cheapo plug should work as long as it makes good electrical contact. After doing the above modification, it works pretty well. It melts solder well enough too. I plugged it in an let it get hot for 30 minutes just to be sure it works an to let the smoke burn off like it said on the package I went to go use to to soder with a day or two latter an it would not get hot for nothing a wire on the inside that heats up was into I a tempted to fix the wire that had broke after I fixed it it still won't not get hot or nothing so it does not work .
