This recent installment to the Guitar Hero series unfortunately falls a bit flat. In a nutshell, they've copy & pasted a different band onto a tired game engine from the previous year's "World Tour." (This is the fourth title in one year to use the same format.) The game plays well enough and does everything it's meant to do, but this is a very bare bones experience with no new features, bonus interviews, or added bell & whistles. Without the inclusion of any Sammy Hagar songs they've also managed to restrict the playlist to only half of this band's library. Even the songs picked from the guest artists seem like questionable choices, making this title attractive only to true old-school Van Halen fans.
Great game at a great price! My son loves it! 👍

This game just ROCKS! It made me remember How much %$^ Van Halen really did kick! The songs are gret, the gameplay is challenging. There are a couple of things that dissapointed me about it though. There was no battle with Eddie Van Halen which I was really looking forward to! Also, the supporting music really didn't do the band justice! It also lacked all the extras that the other GH have! It gets top rating on the set list alone! You just don't get tired of playing these gret guitar driven songs!
