I had to advance the timing pretty much to the limit of the slot to time within spec. This might be a product of the timing belt more than the distributor. Prior to installation I checked this distributor over a -10 deg f to 180 deg f by measuring the pickup resistance and the pulse out put of the Ne and G+ lines. It stayed within spec through the entire range. My old distributor did not stay in range. It is now installed in the vehicle and is running fine.
