The last time I built this kit was 50+ years ago. A great model that can intensivly updated with aftermarket products. For a Ship Collector like I am, it's a must have kit. Brings back alot of memories of Vietnam and Yankee Station. It was the carrier that brought the Sea Kings to the rescue to the burning U. S. S. FORESTAL. I hope to see more old kits come back, but with Revell bankruptcy we can only hope on Blitz Corp, ( Revell/Germany ) for those reissues.

I haven’t assembled it yet. I served on the O Boat in 69/70 and gave this model to my little brother when I returned from Vietnam in 1969. He assembled it then and it was lost over the years. I am reliving my past and hope to have it on my mantle with other Navy memories.

Nice addition to my collection. Was hard to find a few years ago.

Some of the parts were broken. Missing a piece of the flight deck. This is not the same ship I served on.. The island is not correct. The flight is different. I think Revell has a mold to create ships that can be named whatever they think.

I got the model, as the Oriskany was the ship I got my journeyman's card on; as an electrican. way back in the 60's
