This is another wonderful learning experience in my life....
I received TT just 4 days ago and it was like my first try at the microwave in the 80's, scared to death...I charged TT first so I wouldnnt have any problems there....I was having a time getting the front wring to stay on when I take it off the dash it keeps popping off, I'm not very savy re electronics but was able to get it back on. The concept of adhering it to the dash or windshield is a little tricky but as a neophyte I did get it down. I have set it and used it 5 times now and am very happy except that I have a problem having the volume stay on...it always seems to be off and I have to keep turning it back on. Could I be doing something wrong?? Any suggestions helpful. Also I stopped at Staples today and the same exact unit was $189. and I was able to get mine for 89.through ... I love the size of the screen and I'm grateful to have this when traveling alone....It makes me feel much more secure. Please keep in mind that I am a retired antique dealer so you know where I am coming from...In the manual it does not state that you need to keep it plugged in to your cig lighter or for how long or how often or does it alert when the battery is low???

US 101 is called "us one west one"? What the heck? waypoint traveling (directions to destinations with mid-way stops) is difficult. Routes not most efficient from our home. trying to find way to "program" our routes so that each trip doesn't take an eternity to enter....have not found it.. Initial download and setup took over two hours. Looking for TomTom to regionalize updates. I need northern California; shouldn't there be a way to just update pertinent areas without the entire system map? (I think I read where this may be coming). Map updates 4 times a year free..check out all the upgrade subscriptions with those of competitors---I don't know which are cheaper/more efficient if you want live update on traffic/road closures. I love it.. I have always ordered one in my car. They cost like $2500 not anymore.. this TomTom is compact and easy to use. They want me to use up at least 100 words... I have said all I am going to say so Guess I will The IRS sent my Tax Return back! I guess it was because of my response to the question : "List all dependents..." I replied: "12 million illegal immigrants; "3 million crack heads; "42 million unemployable people on food stamps, "2 million people in over 243 prisons; "Half of Mexico ; and "535 fools in the U.S. House and Senate." Apparently, this was NOT an acceptable answer. So I requested them to take me off their mailing list!I love it.. I have always ordered one in my car. They cost like $2500 not anymore.. this TomTom is compact and easy to use. They want me to use up at least 100 words... Great product,easy to use,problems with the mounting bracket
I bought this product to replace an older Garmin.We were not completely unhappy with our old one, but the maps needed updating and the mounting bracket had broken.The cost to update the maps and buy a new bracket was comparable to buying a new one and this one had lifetime traffic and map updates.We first tried it out on a trip out of state to an area we had never been.We were able to figure out how to use it pretty easily after a few peeks at the instruction booklet.The larger screen is easier to see,the maps are clear and the voice directions are not so frequent as to be annoying.After arriving at our destination we didn't have any problems with finding any of the places we were looking for even though the area was mostly rural.A nice feature is that it warns you if the route contains an ...
