      Terrifically realistic

      This level crossing is a far more realistic model to the Peco model which is very plasticitly. The kit only supplies gates NOT pedestrian wicket gates Care is required in the construction but the result is very rewarding. Not being of plastic construction, the wood finish blends into the layout exceptionally, but the gate posts are extremely difficult and the mounting seemed frail. I overcame both issues by making the gate posts out of 7mm dowel, sticking the dowel on the outer end of each gate and then drilling a 7mm hole in the base. Hey presto, gate posts and also very secure mounting on the layout I have bought another for my other level crossing Although a little pricey, this level crossing looks excellent and can also be made up in the opening width of your choice
