The EliteBook 8440P is a powerful business machine that features multi-core processing and a large LCD screen in a compact and portable package. This laptop mainboard is a great option for professionals and enthusiasts who want to repair or upgrade an EliteBook 8440P. It’s also a powerful and intriguing option for those who need a board as the basis for their own custom laptop build.Intel has based this motherboard on the Mobile QM57 Express chipset. The socket type is BGA1288 / PGA9898, which means the motherboard supports mobile Core i3, i5, and i7 processors. The default CPU for the HP EliteBook 8440P laptop is the Intel i5-520M. The i5-520M has two cores, supports four threads, operates at 2.40 GHz, and can up clock to 2.93 GHz when its cores/threads are underutilized. It’s configured for a proprietary mini-ITX-like form factor that will fit into any EliteBook laptop case with ease.Supported RAM is dual-channel DDR3 SDRAM. There are two memory slots, and one can remain empty. In fact, the EliteBook 8440P would often ship with one 4GB module. Each slot supports up to 4GB, which means it offers a maximum system memory of 8GB overall. The form factor is 204-pin SO-DIMM. The default speed is 1333 MHz, but you can opt for slower or faster memory as long as all other specs are met. Modules can be mixed. If you have the 4GB that came with your EliteBook 8440P, you could expand with just a 1GB or 2GB module.These laptop motherboards feature three SMART SATA II connections, which operate at a throughput up to 3GB/s. The 8440P computer shipped with a hard drive, an optical drive, and an open bay that could be used for a second hard drive. You can opt for solid-state drives as well. Note that if you’re using the standard EliteBook 8440P laptop case, then a caddy bracket may be necessary for any SSDs. This motherboard also has an integrated MMC card reader.This motherboard supports an integrated GPU, or a discreet graphics card. The motherboard has a VGA and a DisplayPort connection that you can use for output to another screen. An onboard audio solution is provided as well, and the motherboards can handle stereo speakers or headphones. A headphone output and a mic input are provided on the motherboard.The HP 594028-001 Intel laptop motherboard features four USB ports. Three of those ports are USB 2.0/1.0, and the fourth is a USB 2.0/eSATA connection. The motherboard uses these ports for external hard drives, wireless Wi-Fi adapters, and more. An integrated NIC lets you network your EliteBook 8440P by attaching an Ethernet cable to an RJ-45 jack. This board also comes with an ExpressCard/54 slot, which you can use for a wide range of components, peripherals, and other accessories. Other connections available include FireWire and a docking port.

      It's Perfect for a motherboard replacement since i gave life back to my dad's elitebook

      This model the HP elitebook 8440p comes (or used to come) with an Intel HD 3000 on the old motherboard - the New one we got only came with the Nvidia nvs 3100m which is perfect since i think of the cause of the old one to die was the Intel HD 3000 - sadly the Old motherboard Really died due to general board failure indicated by leds flashing and what not(was a tiny bit hard to figure out) - BUT this new one brought it back to good use - and yes it performs well under heavy load - the funny thing is we got it the same day it died ..i guess that's just bad luck since i had 1 other laptop die a day ago before the elitebook -

      Resurrect that HP

      Motherboard replaced non working board. Just removed old interface and old motherboard. Reinstalled new motherboard, connected interface and HP worked again
