    Smooth and Powerful Mechanism

    We have been waiting for this N Scale mechanism to repower an HO scale narrow gauge steam engine in HON30 scale. When we placed the metal body of the steam locomotive onto the mechanism, It was a wonderful surprise to see this compact unit move the 80mm. (3 inch) locomotive and 3 Cars ALSO, each one 100 mm.(4 inches) long. It works smoothly and quietly at slow speeds and at faster speeds. Thank You!

    Great it is available - but be aware

    The product works. One wire became detached as the wire was oxidised. Not too much of an issue as I was putting a 270 ohm resistor in anyway to use it on 12v, but not so good had I not had the requirement to run on 12v and I can solder small parts!. The UK import tax and Royal Mail handling charge nearly doubled the advertised price. Not the vendors fault, but in my naivety. I wasn't expecting that.

    Interesting mechanism for HON30 Industrial engines. It operates at reasonable speed with 1.5v. Great for closed loop industry or pizza layouts.

    a good starting point

    great little engine as a kitbash for a small stem switcher or for a logging operation. I plan to make a HOn30 scale steamer for a mall logging train. Only drawback s it t is only rated for 3.5 volts max. But it will be a short narrow gage track not connected to the min line (12 volts).
