Neil Diamond's "Thank You Australia" dvd
I bought this dvd because I had not seen it, and I love Neil Diamond. In my opinion, it was not his best. I have been lucky enough to attend three of his concerts in Dallas,Texas during the 1980's. They were great, and very exciting. In 2008 my loving daughter gave me, (for my 70th birthday) tickets for the best seats in the house to the "Hot August Night" concert in Houston, Tx. It was AWESOME! The fans ranged from the young to the old-(like me and my husband). All of us who could stand were on our feet for most of the concert. Those who could not stand-danced in their seat. Who would have believed that a man Neil's age could still perform with the talent and stamina that he did. He still looks fantastic and his voice is as good as ever. He also has some wonderful new songs. I ... I bought this dvd because I had not seen it, and I love Neil Diamond. In my opinion, it was not his best. OUTSTANDING CONCERT DVD!!
Neil Diamond NEVER disappoints and this rare concert DVD is a MUST. Great sound and concert effects for 1976. There is a television interview included which is very insightful and honest from Neil Diamond himself. He explains why this interview is rare and you do not see others. The booklet and mini promotional poster are an added bonus!!!!!!! The Thank You Australia concert Live 1976
I am so happy to have found this DVD. I love every song in this concert and so enjoyed listening to the conversations he has with the audience. Concerts were so different then....even in a hugh crowd, the feeling was one of intimacy with everyone there. The only thing I would have changed is that his face was not as visible as his guitar or the microphone....I thought that was odd. A better angle of the shots would have captured the nuances of his expression as he played and sang. Overall, I give this an excellent rating.I am so happy to have found this DVD. I love every song in this concert and so enjoyed listening to the conversations he has with the audience.
