Personnel includes: Horseman (banjo); Steve Hopkins (piano); Dave Hassell (percussion). Recorded at The Slaughterhouse, Great Driffield, East Yorkshire, England in August 1988. Raves were the backdrop to life in late '80s Britain and the most prominently featured band on the soundtrack were the Happy Mondays. They crashed onto the scene (six years into their career) with their first album, SQUIRREL AND G-MAN TWENTY FOUR HOUR PARTY PEOPLE PLASTIC FACE CAN'T SMILE (WHITE OUT)-a title which speaks for itself really. BUMMED, the follow-up, produced by the Manchester-based producer Martin Hannett, was a further step in the direction of total Madchester domination. Strangely, however, the Happy Mondays weren't about the feel-good, ecstasy-fueled good times that most associated with the scene at the time. They were the seedy underbelly of the scene--the thugs, if you will. They stole musical ideas from everyone (note: "Lazy Itis" owes a debt to "Ticket to Ride") and singer Shaun Rider alienated everyone by issuing careless, homophobic statements to the press. Fantastic seller! My item took longer than normal to arrive but that's due to them sending me the wrong dvd. Not to worry though, I contacted them and they arranged for the correct dvd to be sent out. My item has now arrived and the dvd was in excellent condition (brand new as described) and it was very well packaged. I would also like to say that the value for money is excellent. This vinyl is really reasonably priced and I love that it is one of the more unusual colours. It arrived well packaged, undamaged and looks as described. It arrived late, due to Royal Mail's Festive rush, but was dispatched by the seller really quickly. When I contacted them to ask where it was, they replied really quickly with a helpful solution.
