Additional information
Personnel: Ken Colyer (trumpet, cornet); Ben Marshall , Bill Stotesbury, Stu Morrison (banjo); John Wurr, Monty Sunshine (clarinet); John R.T. Davies (alto saxophone, baritone saxophone, trombone); Sonny Morris (trumpet); Len Baldwin (trombone); Pat Hawes (piano); Colin Bowden (drums). Liner Note Authors: John Griffith; Ken Colyer's Jazzmen. Recording information: 08/1972-03/1977. Unknown Contributor Roles: Crane River Jazz Band; Ken Colyer's Jazzmen. This 1998 CD features cornetist Ken Colyer on three separate occasions broadcasting for the BBC with his part-time bands of the '70s. Two of the groups (from 1972 or 1977) also have trombonist Len Baldwin, either John Wurr or Gerry Turnham on clarinet, and a three- or four-piece rhythm section with pianist Ray Smith on the later date. The other session (from 1975) features Colyer with a reunited Crane River Jazzband, an expanded group with a second trumpeter and such notables as clarinetist Monty Sunshine and John R.T. Davies tripling on alto, baritone, and trombone. Overall, the three dates are quite consistent, each offering high-quality examples of New Orleans jazz. Among the highlights are "There's Yes, Yes in Your Eyes," "Shim-Me-Sha Wabble," "Big Chief Battleaxe," "Just a Little While to Stay Here," and "Salutation March." An excellent sampling of Ken Colyer's music while he was still in near-prime form. ~ Scott Yanow

Fantastic seller! My item took longer than normal to arrive but that's due to them sending me the wrong dvd. Not to worry though, I contacted them and they arranged for the correct dvd to be sent out. My item has now arrived and the dvd was in excellent condition (brand new as described) and it was very well packaged. I would also like to say that the value for money is excellent. I highly recommend this seller, thank you so much! The issue with the wrong dvd was quickly rectified .

Book arrived safely packaged in perfect order. Item as described, new. Thank you Rarewaves Outlet. Fascinating book, great addition to my collection. Great price. Would recommended this seller. No communication needed with seller, so don't know what to rate with regards to communication (please dont take lack of feedback on this matter as a negative). Thanks again.

This vinyl is really reasonably priced and I love that it is one of the more unusual colours. It arrived well packaged, undamaged and looks as described. It arrived late, due to Royal Mail's Festive rush, but was dispatched by the seller really quickly. When I contacted them to ask where it was, they replied really quickly with a helpful solution. Such good customer service, so strongly recommend. Really happy with my purchase.
