How to install and charge the BL-T14 Battery in a LG tablet. The battery should be completely charged before use. The battery cannot be easily charged outside of the unit. This would require a special wiring harness and connector assembly. There are several videos available on-line that show how to remove the back cover from the screen assembly. There are things that are not explained in most of the videos. The back cover is very tight. The first time I took the back cover off the unit, I thought I was going to break the screen assembly. Tip number one. The main circuit board is located in the top third of the unit. Place a spurger or a single edge razor blade about half way down one side of the unit and work (pry with force) the side away from the screen by moving the spurger toward ... Be very careful when you get within one third 1/3 of the distance to the top. Leave the spurger there. Tip number two. The main circuit board is located in the top third of the unit. Place a spurger or a single edge razor blade about half way down the other side of the unit and work (pry with force) the side away from the screen just as you did the first side. Leave the spurger there. Tip number three. Place a spurger or a single edge razor blade above the headset connector on the top of the unit and pry the top of the back cover away from the screen assembly. If you separated the sides sufficiently one of the top corners will POP off. Then the other top corner will pop off. Tip number four. The white connector that connects the battery to the screen assembly should be lifted vertically fron the back of the circuit board connector. (Small Plastic screwdriver) Tip number five. The copper / gold connector that is on the flex circuit also must be lifted vertically from the circuit board connector. The old battery can now be removed and the new battery installed in the screen assembly. Be very careful to make sure both the white and the gold connectors are properly inserted in their respective chassis connectors. DO NOT replace the back cover at this time. Place the screen assembly on an insulated flat surface and plug the power adapter / charger into the screen assembly. Plug the power adapter into an ac source. IF the screen assembly shows anything other than a battery charging symbol, remove the power adapter from the ac source and re-check the white and the copper / gold connectors to insure proper fit. Once the screen assembly shows a battery charging symbol, let the battery charge overnight. When the battery shows full charge, the screen assembly will show a warning to remove the charger to enhance battery life. The back cover can now be replaced. The bottom of the case should be installed first followed by the sides and then the top. This is the reverse order of the dis-assembly. The unit will run the battery down in about 60 hours with all of the accessories activated (WWAN, WIFI, etc.) The chargers supplied with these units are not smart enough to stop trying to charge the battery as long as the charger is connected to the unit and an AC source. DO NOT leave the charger connected to both power and an AC power source except when you are charging the battery... That is unless you enjoy replacing batteries. Remember it is a re-chargeable LION battery. It should now be good for several hundred re-charges.
