1958 version
I thought the movie was really good considering they didn't have the same special effects like they have today, this movie I think focuses more on the ship itself rather than the characters and also the sinking.With the James Cameron version I know they built an actual real live ship to shoot the movie and I was wondering how they did that in this film and I was so amazed that they actually used a large model in a small tank, the water would come up to your waist when standing and to model ship would be just above your head which is in the Making of A Night to Remember.They also used toy life boats with dolls but still looked very real, the only small scene that was unrealistic was when one of the lifeboats was in the water rowing away from the sinking ship it looked like a large backdrop ...
