    Still Works

    This reader is now an oldie but a goodie. Purchased with the intent of using it on a Raspberry Pi running Debian Linux and with only a few hours and the internet I was successful. The reader is very simple and I was able to verify, as others have mentioned, this reader does NOT work with Windows 7.

    to old to use for most users, unless your still using Win XP.

    the above three "nos" really ment "Unknown not No it was bad. was unable to get it to work because I use win 10 not win XP.

    Great Product at a Great Price

    I used to do consulting job about electronic and this item was one of the good product I remember. I actually owned several myself. It is a great little product at a affordable price. I brought back ages ago when it was still around $50. To most of everybody who use this item will tell you it is a good product, but not a 5 star winner. However, I disagree because I use it beyond it intended purpose, which is for user login and simple password login. I download advance software, which are available on the web for FREE, and use it for everything like data encryption, Bank account login, myspace and social login, and even remembering other passwords with only a touch of my finger.     The Microsoft fingerprint reader gets a 92/100 on my scale. PRACTICABILITY 24/25 - A USABILITY 27/30 - A- RELIABILITY 26/30 - B COSMETIC 5/5 - A USER-FRIENDLY 10/10 - A It has its downs to it. It can be a pain, especially the software. You have to install all these drivers, then configure it, then do all this stuff for the website recognition. It sometimes does not recognize your print. HOWEVER, it is efficient, small, cool, nice, and a real time saver. A-.
