is over en weer flink met modder gegooid. Zelden is een nieuwe therap- vorm zo sterk onderwerp van spot en discussie geweest als EMDR. Letterlijk zwartgemaakt. Waarom riep EMDR zoveel weerstand op? Het is toch wel aardig om hier kort op in te gaan. Wij kunnen wel wat redenen bedenken. In de eerste plaats gingen die 'gek aandoende oogbewegingen' aanvankelijk de fantasie van iedere traumatherapeut ver te boven. Ook de schrijvers van dit boek hebben die weerstand gevoeld toen zij voor het eerst videobeelden zagen van 'ruitenwissende collega's' en - een wellicht nog dieper gevoelde weerstand - toen zij zelf voor het eerst met hun vingers voor de ogen van hun clie]nten gingen wapperen. Zeker in het begin, als je nog niet zo ov- tuigd bent van de effectiviteit, voelt het behoorlijk belachelijk. En hoe - varener en wijzer je bent, hoe moeilijker het is om vaste gewoontes los te laten en je een nieuwe 'gek aandoende' methode eigen te (laten) maken. Onze ervaring bij de trainingen is dat jonge therapeuten hier minder moeite mee hebben dan hun meer ervaren collega's. Het uitoefenen van EMDR gaat op een bepaalde manier echt anders dan andere therapievormen. Naast de rol die de oogbewegingen spelen, vereist EMDR ook een andere houding van de therapeut ten aanzien van het t- rapieproces. Enerzijds is deze aanpak veel minder verbaal en probeer je de ] verwerking voor je client zo veel mogelijk 'als vanzelf' te laten verlopen.

The blue vinyl colour is darker than in the generic picture used (see my photo of actual vinyl colour). Nevertheless, it’s still a nice package with the very nice illustration booklet inside. Delivery time is a little stretched, but with free postage and a good value package, this has to be expected (delay was probably caused by the royal mail anyway). Communication was excellent and I’m glad I made my purchase from Rarewaves Outlet. Thumbs Up!
