About this product

Product Information

The Samurai Jack Season 2 DVD set is perfect for fans of the American action adventure cartoon. The two-disc set features 13 episodes, or over 300 minutes, of the cartoon show about the kung fu fighting hero, Samurai Jack. Once a prince, Jack left his homeland as a child when his father’s empire was destroyed by the evil demon, Aku. Jack traveled the world, training and growing stronger. In this action adventure story, he eventually returned as a legendary samurai to defeat Aku. Before he could vanquish the villain, Aku magically transported Jack into the future and planed to deal with the hero later. Taking place in a futuristic world, Samurai Jack must fight the strange beings of the future to return to his own time. Created by animator Genndy Tartakovsky, the show features the voice talents of Phil LaMarr as Jack and Mako as Aku, as well as John DiMaggio, Sab Shimono, and Keone Young. This Samurai Jack Season 2 DVD includes Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo sound for great audio quality.

  • Samurai Jack Season Two

The imagination never flags in Episodes XIV-XXVI of Samurai Jack, Genndy Tartakovsky's Emmy-winning comedy-adventure. The artists skillfully employ design, color, and pattern to compliment the directors' use of deft cutting and split screen imagery. The resulting visuals are sharp, fresh, and appealing. As Jack continues his quest to return to the past and destroy the evil shape-shifter Aku, the tone of the adventures shifts from dramatic to farcical and back again. In Episode XX, Jack proves his determination by climbing treacherous Mount Fatoom with three highly trained monks. The clerical trio consists of little more than pentagons with stylized faces, but their geometric simplicity plays effectively against the jagged facets of the mountain. The warriors who battle mechanical ...

  • A must for all Samurai Jack Fans!

From Genndy Tartakovsky comes the second season of the 2004 Emmy Award Winning Series for Best Animated Program: Samurai Jack. In brief, Samurai Jack's homeland was destroyed by the most evil creature on Earth, a being named Aku. When Jack attempts to stop him, Aku opens a portal in time and sends Jack into the future, a future which Aku controls. Samurai Jack now quests for a way to return to the past and "undo the evil that is Aku". Season Two features some of the best episodes of the series. Episodes include the second installment of the Scotsman, the battle against Demongo, the battle of the Spartan like warriors against the robot horde, and of course the Coliseum of Doom. One of the best animated and scored episodes of the series is also included where Jack finds his home and ...

  • Samurai Jack: Season 2 (2005, DVD)

I bought this DVD because I used to watch Samuai Jack on Cartoon Network before it was taken off the air. I've always enjoyed the whole concept of a noble warrior being sent to the future and trying to find a way back to the past to vanquish his mortal enemy (who, by the way, now controls everthing in the future). The episodes are well thought out, imaginative, and highly entertaining. It's hard for me to choose which season is the best (there are 4 in all) because they are all wonderful. Samuai Jack is an excellent cartoon to be enjoyed by all. I only wish it had lasted more than 4 seasons.

  • very good

After having watched just three shows/episodes, I was hooked. It got to where I planned my evening tv with this pretty much in mind. For the most part, it always contained something strange and led you into the mind of what Jack was trying to accomplish. It inevitably led you to strange places and even stranger beings, of which sometimes you wondered if Jack was going to be able to succeed in the story's mission (episode). I had no idea that they had created a movie version of this and so bought it. For those of you that would like something different in animation, give this a try.
